What Do People Normally Use Computers For?

From my understanding they can do all sorts of things but I really don't know what those sorts of things are. This is the first time I have ever actually used one so please excuse my ignorance. I know they are pretty expensive and I am assuming many of you might have bought them for some reason or another. What do you do with them?

I'm not really sure about Tiredofyourbabbling, but most NORMAL people normally use computers for a whole slew of things. Depending on the computer you got it usually comes with a bunch of different programs. Writers for example might use the writing program to write stories, or somebody working in a business can use another program to make spreadsheets. There are also games that either come on the machine or that you can buy that people play, like solitaire or chess for examples. And then there's the internet which is where you can look up information on a plethora of different subjects, or in the case of these forums talk to other people.

So there might be games on this? How would I go about finding those?

Umm...I'm not sure how well I can explain this by typing, but I'll do my best. There should be an icon on the bottom left of your screen that you can click on, which should open up a little menu. You should be able to find the games folder by looking through there, or I think you can also find them by looking through the "My Documents" folder as well.

As for buying games for the computer, I am very willing to bet there is some sort of software or computer store somewhere in Truce's mall. I haven't really been to Shrike all that much so I can't really say much, but I'm sure there are plenty of stores there where you can find computer games. Hope this helped!

That's...rather odd. It sounds like you don't have access to administrator privileges, and if that is the case then you're going to have to find whoever does have them.

That might be difficult. I think the person who owned the computer is dead.

Huh... At this point you're probably better off just getting a new computer.

Is that really necessary? I mean, I can still access the forums on it which was why I used it in the first place.

Well, I mean. If you're fine with using the computer of a possibly dead person and you're fine without administrator controls, then I guess it's alright.

Oh. So this is like a personal item then. I didn't know. I thought it was like any other piece of furniture.

I mean, some people just use theirs like a piece of furniture sure. Where you live there might even be laws of salvage to cover legal ownership of it.

Hacking the files may be an option, but if you're asking questions like this it may be out of your technical prowess. A robot may be able to help you out with that if you have one you can trust not to screw around with the files.

I can't access most of the files on this thing, but there was one that worked. I am a little torn as to what I should do about it.
